Searches for RevOps jobs grew 2.7x in three years, the fastest of 29 sales titles

- US job searches for revenue operations (RevOps) roles rose 172% from October 2022 to September 2023 to the September 2025 to August 2026 period, the fastest growth of 29 B2B sales titles tracked.
- Medical sales (+151%) and solutions engineer (+111%) job searches also more than doubled.
- The median sales title saw job searches rise 26% over the same three years.
- Sales representative is the most-searched B2B sales title, with 526,110 US job searches in the latest 12 months.
- Sales development representative (SDR) job searches rose 54%, faster than account executive (+24%).
- Only 5 titles saw job searches fall, led by sales executive (-21%) and VP of sales (-18%).
- Job searches fell year over year for 28 of 29 titles in the latest 12 months, after a peak in the September 2024 to August 2025 period.
Which sales roles people are looking for
Job searches show where candidates are heading and which roles are becoming familiar enough to search by name. The data covers job-search phrasings such as "revops jobs", "remote sales engineer jobs" and "account executive positions" for 50 title strings, with synonyms combined into 40 title groups, and compares the latest 12 months with the first 12 months of available data.
Revenue operations leads on growth. Searches for RevOps jobs went from 5,170 to 14,070 a year, a 2.7x increase. RevOps is still a smaller search topic than frontline sales roles, but it has grown faster than any other title with a meaningful base. Territory sales grew faster in percentage terms (+210%) but from fewer than 2,000 searches a year, below our 5,000 search threshold for the ranking.
Technical and specialist roles also rose quickly. Solutions engineer job searches grew 111%, ahead of the more traditional sales engineer title (+34%). Medical sales searches grew 151%.
The biggest titles
By volume, broad titles still dominate. Sales representative, pharmaceutical sales, medical sales, customer success manager and account manager draw the most job searches.
Growth has cooled since 2025
Most titles peaked in the September 2024 to August 2025 period. Job searches fell year over year for 28 of the 29 ranked titles, so the three-year gains above are partly a 2024 surge that has since eased.

About the data
- Data: monthly US Google search volume (English), October 2022 to August 2026.
- Keywords: 50 sales title strings, each in seven job-seeking phrasings ("{title} jobs", "{title} job", "remote {title} jobs", "{title} jobs remote", "{title} jobs near me", "{title} positions", "{title} hiring"). Synonyms are combined, for example RevOps with revenue operations and revenue operations manager, and SDR with sales development representative. Full keyword lists are in the Raw tab.
- Calculation: close variants that share one grouped volume are counted once per title group. Growth compares September 2025 to August 2026 with October 2022 to September 2023.
- Ranking rules: only titles with at least 5,000 job searches in the first 12 months are ranked, to avoid small-base distortion. Retail "sales associate" is shown in the data but not ranked because it is not a B2B sales role.
- One-month spikes: isolated one-month spikes that do not match surrounding months (for example a keyword jumping from about 5,000 to 165,000 searches for a single month) are replaced with the keyword's centered 7-month rolling median when they exceed 4 times that median. Unadjusted values are in the Raw tab of data.xlsx.
- Limitations: job-search volume is a proxy for candidate interest, not for job openings or hiring. Search volumes are rounded estimates. Data before October 2022 is not included.
