Connect Gmail, Outlook or SMTP

Send email steps from your own address. Connect Gmail or Outlook in one click, or any mailbox with SMTP and IMAP, and see how email replies are found.

Updated October 3, 2026

Email steps send from your own mailbox, so replies land in your normal inbox and Hollerly stops the sequence when someone answers. Hollerly doesn't sell mailboxes, domains or warmup.

Email steps are on Pro and Agency, and included in the free trial. Only the workspace owner or an admin can connect a mailbox. A workspace has one connected mailbox; connecting a new one replaces the old one.

Gmail or Google Workspace

  1. Go to Settings, Channels & safety, section Your mailbox.
  2. Click Connect Gmail and sign in with Google.
  3. Allow Hollerly to send email and read your inbox. Hollerly only reads messages from leads you emailed, to detect replies.

Outlook or Microsoft 365

Click Connect Outlook, sign in with Microsoft and accept the permissions. It works the same way as Gmail.

If you see "No refresh token returned", remove Hollerly from your account's connected apps in Google or Microsoft and connect again.

Any other mailbox: SMTP and IMAP

Click Use SMTP / IMAP and fill in:

  • Your email address and, optionally, Name shown to recipients
  • Username and Password or app password. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 need an app password here.
  • SMTP host and SMTP port (587 by default; 465 also works)
  • IMAP host and IMAP port (993 by default). IMAP is only used to spot replies.

Click Test and connect. Hollerly tests the SMTP login before it saves anything. If it fails you'll see the server's message, for example "SMTP login failed".

After connecting

The mailbox card shows the provider and when it last sent. Set your daily limit and signature there; see Email limits, warm-up and signature. On a custom domain, check the Deliverability card under the mailbox for SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect. Hollerly deletes the mailbox's tokens or password, and email steps are skipped until you connect a mailbox again. If a mailbox shows Mailbox needs reconnecting, click Reconnect (Gmail and Outlook) or enter the SMTP details again.
