Templates, variables, spintax and languages

Write messages yourself or let Claude write each one. How variables with fallbacks, spintax, sequence templates, team templates and languages work.

Updated October 3, 2026

AI writes, or you write

Click Edit message on any note, message or email step and pick a mode:

  • AI writes per lead: Claude writes each message from the lead's profile, their latest post and their company website. Add optional direction, for example "mention their recent hiring post".
  • Write it myself: you write the text, with variables and spintax. For emails, add a subject too.

Variables with fallbacks

Use these variables: first_name, last_name, full_name, company, headline, location, sender_first_name and booking_link. Write them in double curly braces with an optional fallback after a bar:

Hi {{first_name|there}}, saw you lead {{headline|the team}} at {{company|your company}}.

If the value is empty, the fallback is used. With no fallback, the variable disappears along with the space before it. Your booking link comes from Settings, Integrations, Booking link, and sender_first_name is the first word of your name.

Spintax

Write options in single curly braces separated by bars, such as {Hi|Hey|Hello}. Each message picks one at random, and options can be nested. Variables are filled in first.

Sequence templates

Start from on the new campaign page lists presets and use-case templates. Filter them by Agencies, SaaS, Recruiting, Consultants, Founders, Events or Partnerships. Some templates use email steps and need Pro.

To reuse your own sequence, open a campaign's menu and click Save as template. It appears in the template list for everyone in your workspace, marked team.

Languages

Pick the campaign Language and Claude writes natively in it. There are 22 options, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, the Nordic languages, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified) and Indonesian. Languages other than English are on Pro.

To run the same campaign in another language, use Translate in the campaign menu (Pro). It makes a translated copy named after the language.
